Jacob Charles studied guqin performance and composition at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing. He is a co-founder of the KONGQU workshop + ensemble and director of ERMu 耳目Labs. Jacob's personal work explores the potentials of intermedia art as a continuation of the multi-disciplinary traditions of literati art. He combines elements of poetry, landscape art and technology with his contemporary guqin improvisations.
